Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection in Sport, Leisure and Outdoor Recreation Guidelines
Energize STW has produced this document in partnership with the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Safeguarding in Sport Group as guidelines and good practice for sport and leisure staff and volunteers. (Updated December 2009)
New Managing Challenging Behaviour in Children Guidelines
Staff & volunteers who deliver sports activities to children may, on occasions, be required to deal with a child’s challenging behaviour.
New guidelines issued by the Child Protection in Sport Unit aim to promote good practice and to encourage a proactive response to supporting children to manage their own behaviour. They suggest some strategies and sanctions which can be used and also identify unacceptable sanctions or interventions which must never be used by staff or volunteers.
