Energize Awards Evening

Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin host an annual awards ceremony which aims to recognise and celebrate local people and organisations who do great things to improve and increase sport and physical activity provision for local people.

The Energize Awards mark what we hope will be a long tradition of rewarding local people and organisations who have achieved in the world of sport and physical activity.

The Energize Awards 2010 in association with Shropshire Star - Nominate Now

The fourth annual Energize Awards will be held on Thursday 21st October 2010 at Shrewsbury Town Football Club. 

Energize STW is delighted to announce the Shropshire Star as the new major partner for these awards.  Energize STW is also working closely with both Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council on this year’s celebration of all that is great about sport and physical activity in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.  This year we are looking forward to celebrating even more local people and organisations as we have added four new categories.  Together we hope to build on the success of the previous three years and make this a fantastic evening for all of the people involved.

The award categories this year are:

  • Coach of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Sports Person of the Year
  • Young Sports Person of the Year
  • Community Club of the Year
  • Adult Team of the Year
  • Junior Team of the Year
  • Innovative Community Project of the Year
  • Employer of the Year
  • Active Lifestyles Award
  • Outstanding Contribution to Sport and Physical Activity Award

Nominations for the Energize Awards 2010 in association with Shropshire Star are being accepted now and you have until 4pm on Friday 10th September to submit your nominations.  Submissions made after this date will not be accepted.

How to Nominate

Before nominating a person, group or organisation for an award, please read the general criteria and the criteria for the individual category you are nominating them for.  All of these criteria are listed on the Award Criteria page.  Alternatively, download a copy of the Award Criteria and nomination form in PDF format.

Please keep these criteria in mind as you make your nominations as these will be used by the Awards Panel during the short listing process.

Once you have read the criteria, you can nominate in the following ways:

  1. Complete our online nomination form.  You will be required to email a photograph of the nominee(s) to us separately - email photos to paula.pugh@shropshire.gov.uk.  Receipt of your online nomination will be confirmed by email from Paula Pugh within office hours - if you do not receive confirmation, please contact Paula on 01743 255079.

  2. Download a PDF of the nomination form, print it off, complete it and post it to Paula Pugh,Leisure Services,Shirehall,Abbey Foregate,Shrewsbury, SY2 6ND. You can either enclose the photograph(s) of the nominee with the form or email them to paula.pugh@shropshire.gov.uk.

We will only contact nominees who are short listed to the final three in each category and the people that nominated them.  If you do not hear from us, your nomination has not been successful on this occasion.
